Are you the first in your family to attend college? The Â鶹´«Ã½ Alumni Relations Office is proud to offer the Â鶹´«Ã½ Alumni Trailblazer Bursary—a financial award designed to support students like you who are breaking new ground in their educational journey.

Bursary Value

Two bursaries of $1,000 will be awarded annually.

Application Deadlines

• Winter Term Deadline: January 31
• Fall Term Deadline: October 31

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, you must:

• Be the first in your family to attend a post-secondary institution.
• Have self-identified as a first-generation learner during the Â鶹´«Ã½ application process.
• Be enrolled in a full-time Â鶹´«Ã½ program for the current academic year.
• Be in good academic standing.
• Submit a short essay explaining your passion for your studies at Â鶹´«Ã½.

Why This Matters

In the 2024-2025 academic year, over 700 learners were identified as first-generation students. This bursary ensures that more learners—regardless of alumni connections—can access meaningful financial support.
